Mobile Wallet

First Federal credit and debit cards are compatible with Mobile Wallet Services such as Apple Pay®, Google Pay®, and Samsung Pay®.

Mobile Wallet allows you to store your card information securely on your smart phone, and to use your phone to make purchases at over a million stores now accepting mobile payments. When you pay in a store using Mobile Wallet services, you don't share the information contained on your card. It's simple, convenient, and secure:

How-To Video

  • Your mobile device sends a unique, one-time passcode to the merchant's terminal that doesn't contain actual card information like your name or card number.
  • Ensure that the app is installed on your mobile device, and if not go to your app store to see if it's available for download.
  • Follow the simple on-screen instructions to load your card information to the app.

Text Banking

Quickly receive account information such as balances, transaction history, and alerts via text message.

Send text commands (such as BAL) to First Federal from your SMS-enabled phone to inquire about basic account balance, transaction history information, and find a nearby ATM or branch. Receive text message responses directly to your phone without signing in.

For up-to-date balance or history information, send a text to 48179. Text BAL for current balance, HIST + texting nickname (ex. HIST 1BChecking). Texting nicknames will be sent with a BAL inquiry. Text HELP for help at any time.

Fraud Alerts

How-To Video

Sign up for Fraud Alerts to keep informed about your account activities. When our system detects unusual behavior on your card, we'll send you a text, email, or mobile app notification detailing the questionable transaction. You'll be promptly notified whether it's a deposit into your account, a pending check clearance, or modifications to your online banking profile. All you have to do is reply "yes" or "no" to the text to verify or dispute the activity.

Fraud Alerts enable you to monitor your account closely and alert you to potential fraud. You can receive these alerts via text message, email, or on the First Federal Mobile Banking App. To activate this service, log into your online banking account and select the types of alerts you wish to receive and your preferred notification method.

How to Set Up Fraud Alerts:

  • In Online Banking, navigate to "Alerts" in top right hand corner.
  • Click the "Alert Options" button. You can choose multiple options for alerts such as low balances or large withdrawals or deposits. 
  • Choose whether you want to receive your alert by email, text message, mobile app, or secure inbox.

You can also turn on push notifications in your mobile banking app for balance alerts, and large deposits and withdrawals. 

  • Log into the mobile app.
  • Tap the three lines that say "More" in the bottom right corner.
  • Tap "Alerts" under the Settings options.
  • Tap on  the "Push Notifications" toggle.
  • Select with alerts you want to receive.

Manage My Cards

Take control of fraud with confidence, knowing that you have the power to manage the debit cards in your wallet using just your smartphone. To activate this feature for your First Federal debit cards, open your First Federal app and tap on the card logo at the bottom of the screen. Follow the instructions to input your 16-digit card number and provide additional information.

With this service, you can:

  • View spending by category, monthly trends, and location.
  • Easily lock and unlock cards.
  • Restrict purchases to location, merchant categories, or transaction types.
  • Set up alerts based on transaction type, merchant category, location, or even spend limit.
  • Set travel plans.
  • Report cards lost or stolen and order new ones.
  • Oversee all your First Federal cards conveniently from a single phone.

How to Set Up Card Controls:

  • Download the First Federal Mobile Banking app from your devices app store.
  • Once enrolled, select "Cards" from the main menu at the bottom of the screen.
  • Now, you'll be able to add your card to your Mobile Wallet, lock and unlock your cards, view spend insights, report a stolen or lost card, and add additional First Federal cards.
